What types of romantic dates can you really have in the winter?

Romance can be alive and well in any season, including the winter. It may be easier to be romantic when you have the whole outdoors in the summer to lend you a hand in your planning, with warm weather to boot. There are many more options for creating romance.

But winter can host lots of romantic dates as well. The thing to remember is that a date isn’t romantic impartial because there is a candlelit dinner under the moonlight and stars. You can have romance anywhere, anytime and anyplace if you create a romantic mood.

So how do you create a romantic mood? I am here to tell you that it doesn’t mean just a romantic dinner, and it isn’t just about buying someone flowers and giving them to the person at the beginning of the date.

Here are ten top romantic winter date ideas:

1. Find out something your date loves, and make this share of the date. If your date loves art work, take a trip to a museum. What would make this especially romantic is if you actually find out specifically what type of art the person likes and go to a museum with this kind of art. Or, if your sweetheart likes 70′s music, take your date disco-roller skating. It’s all about making the person feel like you really want to bag to know them. Of course, in the winter, you are limited to indoor activities, but so what?

2. What do you like to do? Do you like poetry? Take your date to a poetry reading. You can find these at different laid-back spots, including your local Borders bookstore. When you do this type of date, it’s romantic because the person can see that you want them to be included in your life. It also means you are opening yourself up to them.

3. Have a “snow-in.” This will work especially well if it really has snowed and school/work is cancelled. This is romantic because the two of you are snowed in together. You can make snow-cream (my version of ice cream made with snow, vanilla, sugar and milk), you can roast marshmallows by the fireplace, and you can curl up next to each other on the sofa and watch movies all day. This is romantic, because it’s objective the two of you against the world. Even if it hasn’t snowed, you can still have fun with this. Both of you can acquire the day off work, or do this on a weekend, and just pretend you are snowed in.

4. Go to a local hotel and swim in their pool. I would advise that you ask permission, but I guess some of you may brave not asking. What you can do is call the hotel, and ask th e policy for swimming if you’re not a guest- you could offer to pay a fee for expend of the pool. Some places may be willing to do this, especially if the hotel has a fitness center and the pool is section of the membership. Then you could get a one-day guest pass for the fitness center and use the pool. This is romantic because it takes planning, and shows your date you are willing to take steps to do something they will luxuriate in.

5. Get your date noticed. What this means is that if your loved one is a writer, and is trying to publish something, bewitch a piece of the person’s work and get it published, and then have a ceremony to celebrate it. This means you are willing to help the person achieve her or his dreams, which is truly romantic. Or, if your date is a singer, then give your date the chance to perform live somewhere, even if he or she won’t get paid. For instance, you could get her or him signed up to sing for free at Border’s. (Make certain you have equipment lined up as well.)

6. Get your date out of work for the day. Call up your sweetheart’s boss, and tell her or him that you would like to do something special for her or him, and ask if she or he can have the day off. Have something lined up like a trip to a museum or the Aquarium. Be careful that you aren’t using their last day of leave and originate them exasperated!

7. Go Christmas caroling. Why is this romantic? Because you are doing something corny together. It means you are willing to show a vulnerable side of yourself and have fun. Believe it or not, fun is romantic.

8. Take a drive looking at Christmas lights. This is romantic because it brings a sense of family and familiarity to the date.

9. Get together all the pictures you have taken together, and get a photo album. The date will be about making a memory of the time you have spent together. This shows that you admire the things you have done together in the past. It’s perfect for winter because it can be done indoors.

10. Go sledding. This gives you the chance to get really close to your date. You can ride the same sled, one behind another, down the hill. Just make sure to keep your date warm so he or she doesn’t get sick from the outdoor cold! If you can’t go sledding, just bundle up and take a walk through the snow.
